Buying a home can certainly be a challenging and anxiety filled experience if you don’t have a proper home inspection done. Even traditional home inspection companies don’t always know what to look for when it comes to inspecting you homes exterior and foundation for signs of water damage and potential problems. As recently seen on CBC, this Victoria home owner did not disclose the problems with flooding and other water damage to the home previous to the sale.
If you are concerned or have doubts about your own homes foundation, it’s best not to wait for serious problems to happen. Rather being pro-active about maintenance can go along way to saving you thousands of dollars in the future. If you are considering purchasing a home, be diligent about getting a quality pre-purchase inspection on the foundation and exterior drainage.
